Taylor’s university was founded in 1969, back then Taylor’s university was a college. Taylor’s university got their University College status only in 2006 and the in 2010 they received the university status. Taylor’s university is one of the best private university in Malaysia, most of the local students prefer Taylor’s university over some of the public universities due to the outstanding quality of education. In 2011 the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) introduced D-Setara ratings of Universities in Malaysia to show the quality of the education in the universities in Malaysia, the rating is for undergraduate courses which are Hospitality and Tourism, Engineering, Health Sciences, and Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Taylor’s university is the only university that was rated as D-Setara Tier 6 in MQA 2012 ratings for hospitality and tourism, which makes it the best university for hospitality and tourism in Malaysia. Taylor’s university is also in the MQA Setara 11rating Tier 5 Excellent University. The university was awarded with more than 60 awards which shows the recognition of their quality of education. Taylor’s university is member of Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), only few universities in Malaysia are the member of this association. In Taylor’s university they teaching method is to teach the up-to-date relevant sources that is need for students to learn.
