Saving money in Malaysia
Budgeting in Malaysia can be very hard for international students while they are studying in Malaysia. Most of the international students struggle when it comes to budgeting, so many students complain that it is expensive, to short of money. There are few ways foreign students can save money during their study in Malaysia. We have asked the international students and talked about the way they could budget money in Malaysia during their study.

Students sharing room
Saving money on rentals
To rent 1 master room can be very expensive for one person to rent, master rooms can be from RM700 to RM1300 per master room. If students shared the master room it can be half of the price. Students should share normal size bed room with their friend rather than sharing master room because normal size bed rooms can be a lot cheaper, the normal price for normal size or midsize rooms are RM300 to RM500 per normal size bedroom. If they shared it then it will be half price. Another way to save money on rental is to rent the full apartment and rent it out to others or join with few friends and rent the apartment together. There are safeties that they should keep in mind when they share rooms, students should share room with someone they know, because other person whom you are sharing can be thief or he could be doing things that could affect your study. Therefor one of our budgeting tips for international students in Malaysia is to save money on rentals

Saving money on food
Saving money on food
Students can save a lot of money on food by just cooking at home, cooking at home can be hard but once the students start cooking daily they can get use to the cooking and they would always want to cook at home. If students eat outside at restaurants they could spend monthly RM800 (USD 270) to RM1500 (USD500). If the students cook at home they can spend monthly RM400 (USD130) to RM500 (USD170) per month, this is great way to save money and stay health, the food you cook could always be healthier than buying food from outside. If they can't cook they can always learn from youtube. This is also one of our budgeting tips for international students in Malaysia are to save money food.

Saving money on transport
Saving money of transport
Transport is one of the issue for international students, transport is important for international students to go to the university and to their apartment or house. There are few tips we can provide that could help the students to budget money on transport. Renting apartment, room or house closer to your university or college even if the rental is little higher. For example: Renting a room closer to your university can be around RM450 (USD150) to RM550 (USD180) but if you rent a room further away from your university could cost RM300 (USD100) to RM350 (USD117), therefor if students stay further away from university they can save up to RM150 to RM RM200. This might sound good amount of saving but it is not recommended from us, students will spend up RM150 to RM200 on transport or even more than that. Taxi could cast minimum of RM10 (USD3.3) per trip to the university and if you take 10 time per month it is already RM100 and if the student take the other 30 times on public transport it can be up to RM60 (USD20). The amount of money can be spent on transport can be a lot and it is not convenient for students to take transport to the university all the time, even local Malaysian students stay close to the university to save money on transport.

Don't be shy, just say no
Saving money on not being shy
Students could save a lot of money if they stop being shy, this is funny but it is true. Most of the Malaysians think international students have a lot of money but actually international students also have to save money as they don’t want to put burden on their parents. Mostly students will join the other students to do unwanted activities, eat at the places where it is expensive and buying expensive clothes. There are a lot of people who will try to take advantage of the students thinking they have a lot of money by trying to sell their products at higher price. By not being is at this point where students should say no, they should not be shy and say no, no need to say they don’t have money but instead they should just say no or no thanks. If their friends ask them to eat at restaurant they can go with them but they should order their food with water or they should simply say no to them too. But if they keep avoiding their friends they will not make friends so best is to go with them and just order water or order their food with water not with cool drinks. This is also weird but it is one of our budgeting tips for international students in Malaysia to save money.

Saving on printing
Saving money on books and printing
Books and printing could be expensive and it will not help international students to budget in Malaysia. Students could budget money on books by printing the notes by few way, one of the way is to buy second hand books from friends or selling your books after your semester. New books could cost RM60 (USD20) to RM100 (USD33) per new book, if the students buy second hand book it could cost them only RM30 to RM60, some students might Photostat but it is not recommended as it is against the books publishing policy. Printing notes also can be expensive, students should Photostat the notes rather than print their notes, the should ask their friends who already printed and Photostat their notes, this way they can cut the cost by half, this could also be one of the advice for saving money on not being shy, because students should not be shy to ask their friends to borrow their notes.

Conclusion
International students in any country can be little hard, as they miss their home or parents, and it might be hard for them as they have to face independent life. They should just take it easy and not worry regardless in which country they are studying. They should learn to budget money, by budgeting money they will stay away from bad things and learn a lot of experience in knowing the ways of saving.
